Spring Red Balloon Yard Sale

Gather your items for this year's island-wide "garage sale" which will be held Saturday, March 7 from 7 am -1 pm! Each participating homeowner will be responsible for putting red balloons on their mailbox or porch to indicate they are having a sale. Rain or shine. The Daniel Island Friends of the Library will be collecting used books, CD's, DVD's and audio books from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on the day of the yard sale. Donations will benefit the Daniel Island Branch of the Berkeley County Library System. Volunteers will canvas the participating yard sale homes for potential donations in the early morning and will return to pick up unsold books and media donations at the end of the sale and will deliver tax donation receipts. Scratched CD's and DVD's are appreciated and can be repaired. Should you not wish to participate in the yard sale but would like to donate your CD's, DVD's and audio books or for other questions regarding Friends of the Library donations, contact Pat Richards at phrichards8@gmail.com or Lucy Schardt at lschardt@aol.com.

Pet Waste Stations on Daniel Island

Daniel Island has many animal lovers, many of them being dog owners. Everyone knows these beloved pets produce waste that needs to be disposed of. Are you aware that the Daniel Island Property Owners Association along with other interested parties such as the City of Charleston and other private regime management companies have installed approximately 50 pet waste stations for your convenience on the island. They are located in our parks, common areas, trails and other frequently traversed areas. If you are curious as to the locations of these stations, you can contact the POA office and would happily supply you with that information. So there are plenty of opportunities for waste disposal at these locations.
